How
to connect an external device.
There are a couple of ways to connect your laptop
to the TV…
1)
You can connect your Laptop via the HDMI cable that is hanging on
the hook behind the TV. Connect this to your laptop and make sure the TV channel
is on HDMI 2 by pressing “Source“ on the remote and use the directional buttons
to select “HDMI 2”.
If your laptop requires a different cable or adaptor, please come and see us in
I.T.
2)
If your device is Miracast
compatible, you can connect wirelessly via the Microsoft Wireless Display
adaptor that is connected to the TV. Ensure the TV channel is on HDMI 4, then on
your laptop swipe from the right edge of the screen(if a touch screen) or click
on the notifications button in your system tray(bottom right) and then click
“Connect”. If you can’t see the connect button you may need to click on
“expand” to see all the options.
Select
“MSDisplayAdaptor_F9” to cast your device screen onto the TV.
Use the same
menu items to disconnect when you are finished casting your device.

Trouble shooting tips
·
TV PC desktop does not appear
on screen : Check that both the TV, and the PC is turned on - there is a small
power button on the blue PC mounted behind the TV. Check which channel you
should be on, and then check which channel is currently selected on the TV (Press the “source” button on the remote)
·
No response from the keyboard
or mouse : Check that the hardware is switched on. For the mouse you can check
to make sure there is nothing obstructing the sensor underneath.
·
No picture via HDMI to the TV :
Check that both ends of the HDMI cable are connected to the appropriate ports e.g.
One connection in your device, and the other in the HDMI 2 Port on the TV.
·
No Audio from TV via the HDMI cable : Check the volume level of the
TV is not too low or on mute. If that appears fine, then on your laptop right
click on the speaker icon in your system tray(bottom right of the task bar) and
select “Sounds”.
From the Sound window select the “Playback” tab, then right click on “HDMI” and
set as default.
Just remember to set the
default back to your laptop speakers when you are finished 😊
